  2. And deleting it from your tumblr here:

    would also be appropriate..

  4. Because I found it on google search which took me to "flippinyourfins" tumblr which leads to both: your tumblr & blog. Looks like Im just stupid & naive person thinking that my caps/scans/pictures are safe without a big red watermark across the middle. Amazing: I decided not to put any, so that ppl can enjoy them without any interference, but AS I SEE it was a smart move to put some in my last Peter Pan post.

It's really sad for me. I made that banner you have at the top of your post so probably the whole set is MINE. They only are a bit larger with some filter added:////

Sorry to call you a thief. But I'm still asking you to delete it. And I'll try to ask the admin of the site you posted to delete them too or at least my banner:///

  5. Hi. I'm sorry but I'm NOT going to leave it like that. The owner of the site you posted as your source:
    http://www.fairyworx.net/Home.html
left NO CONTACT so I cannot ask him to delete at least the very first picture (=graphic I made exclusively to open my post at livejournal!!!). I won't stop looking for his mail or diff way of contact, but it'll take me some time..

But that doesn't change the fact you've got
    -STOLEN file[/s] on your blog,
-you left no credit (even to that guy who illegaly put it on his site and what's even worse he PHOTOSHOPPED it a bit -I'm assuming it's him although I can't be 100% sure cause it isn't his style leaving credits)
-AND you posted it on tumblr which causes the massive spread of the stolen file

Try to put yourself in my situation. Happy to find those illustrations, I capped them, chose a picture from which I made that "Kay Nielsen/ Little Mermaid artwork [1941]" banner, I was the one who picked both fonts, filter, etc., downloaded them in my photobucked and posted it in April 2009! you can find A LOT of sites (even tumblrs grr) that linked some of those caps to MY POST:
    http://amycrehore.blogspot.com/2009/11/kay-nielsen-beautiful-and-sad.html
    http://drawn.ca/archive/kay-niesens-little-mermaid/
    http://libraryland.tumblr.com/post/144165960/disneyfuckyeah-1941-concept-art-for-the-little
    etc etc

And you are the one who participate in all this;/ Please, delete at least THAT VERY FIRST PICTURE WITH TEXT.

  6. Hello again,

Even if i would delete this post in my blog and on my tumblr page, hundreds (or more) of people are allready share this illustrations on internet. You made something and peoples liked that and shared. Why do you enjoy this situation? If you would be happy, i'm going to delete my posts on my pages.

Take care of you and good luck.

  7. To make things clear: I have NOTHING against spreading the love for Kay Nielsen's art. But "I put a lot of affort into scanning/capping/cleaning my posts for the viewing pleasure" (that quote is part of my posts' disclamer) plus I'm making an opening banner almost everytime. And then come ppl taking it without ANY comment and posting it AS IF THEY WERE THE ONES WHO MADE IT! That's just a sh*t situation which I'm definietly NOT going to ENJOY. (I'm not talking about you because you didn't know sb stole it from me until these last couple of days, except the fact it'd be easier for me not to call you thief if you'd also put some credit for that grrr fairyworx site here)...

Anyhow: YES, I'd be very grateful if you could delete (again:) THAT VERY FIRST PICTURE WITH TEXT (=my banner) and you won't see my comments here anymore.

  8. This is funny! So what if someone steals your post, the internet is for people to copy and share. I would be very flattered to see someone copy off my page. They are little Mermaid paintings, not 24 Karat gold bricks. Get over it. Besides, Sofia Coppolla is making a movie on Hans Christian Andersens Mermaid story. It should be really good! Sofia is an amazing director, seen 'The Virgin Suicides' from waaaaaaaaaay back in 1999? Masterpiece!

    1. Hello!
I wanted to ask just one thing: I'm writing a book about the little mermaid of Andersen and I am gathering material on its iconographic history.
Reading your post, and not knowing about copyright, I would like to know if I can use the pictures of Kay Nielsen.
Could you answer me soon? The book is to be published soon!

      Thanks!
